I agree with that shit. We've got two trap games back-to-back and one of those games (@ BC) looks a lot more difficult than before. I lived in Boston for a couple of years, BC fans respect Virginia Tech but they want to kick our ass everytime we play them because VT beat them in the ACCCG in '07.

The best thing perception-wise for our program would be to play a 1-loss Texas A&M in a BCS bowl and beat Johnny Football 17-7.

That being said, I'm not looking past Duke and that glorious 3:30 kickoff.

The "lousy mid-major" is probably going to be Louisville. There's a short list of teams I'd rather play against than a team with the Teddy Bear as its QB.

I think we do this every year at some stage. Sometimes it's before the season, sometimes during. We start looking ahead, feeling we're due to catch a break or make a run at something great. I hope for it too, to some extent, but I'm holding myself back this year. Too many unknowns. The only thing I know for sure is I love the way this team is playing together and I love their attitude.

The only thing I'm hoping for right now? 7-1 after Duke. Let's talk again on 10/27.

How awesome to be able to FINALLY beat Tajh and Sammy!! That's the only reason I'm rooting for Clemson over FSU... If we continue to play like we are, Miami should not be an issue. IF...

I wonder if the staff is using a specific computer program to help them with self-scouting, or if Tech has their own proprietary software. It would be interesting to find that out.

I know this is a 'what if' thing but man I get nervous starting to predict where we will be at the end of the season. There are still a lot of games left and if the team starts looking ahead we could be set up for failure. Just wanted to throw that out so I can feel like my karma is back in balance.

Was just telling some one the other day that the ideal situation for me is us in ACCCG with 1 loss, Clemson undefeated, Miami with 1 loss(to VT) and FSU with 2, exactly as you had it

I'd imagine that after we beat FSU in the ACC Championship game, we'll be on our way to Pasadena for a rematch with Alabama

I agree, I love the idea of self-assessment. I, for one, saw myself galloping the other day and realized that my trot wasn't contributing to my overall gait. I changed up a hitch in my step and now they mares can't take their eyes off me.

I suggest we start a Make-A-Wish for french to get invited to break down film with the coaches. Or at least to be a fly on the wall.

ahahaha

Side note, I didn't think of this when I filled out the TKP reader survey:

When we attract new folks to the site, there is usually a comment/question/thread about how to get this-and-that posted or make a gif of something-or-other or how to make a youtube video start and stop at such-and-such a time, so I think it would be helpful to have a 'help posting' section somewhere.

Oh, and for us keyboard addicts, if the Post button was the first tab stop after this comment box, that'd be cool, too.

Here's the best case scenario for us and the ACC for that matter from here on out with us being the main priority. Clemson beats FSU this weekend and wins out, beating USCe. Miami enters our game undefeated after beating FSU. This would mean that on November 9th, Clemson would be ranked around 3rd and Miami probably between 5 and 7 with us sitting somewhere around 15-17 I would imagine (Duke and BC will only bump us up so much unless teams above us suffer big upsets). We beat Miami, bump up 5 spots or so and win out. Then we are looking at possibly a top 10 ACC championship game with us versus Clemson, possibly with Clemson sitting at #2 or even #1 should Bama lose along the way to LSU or someone else. We have our revenge on Clemson and seal our path to a BCS bowl. Clemson would most likely then go to a BCS bowl as well. It's even more likely that the ACC gets 2 BCS bowls if Fresno State and Northern Illinois lose along the way so there are no BCS busters. I would love for all of this to happen, but we still have just under half the season to go. There's still plenty of time for things to get interesting.

Assuming things go as they should for the rest of the year (FSU/Clem/Miami winning out except against each other).

ACC gets 2 BCS (probably both from the Atlantic division)
VT gets picked for CFA before Miami (travelling fans make us a better financial selection, plus at this point we know Atlanta like the back of our collective hand)
OR Miami goes to CFA and we get whatever is next.

They look at UVA as an unfinished product, THEY KNOW THEY SUCK RIGHT NOW but they firmly believe they won't suck when they play there.

Fully agreed. But that didn't work out for the previous 3-4 recruiting classes, did it? People can believe in the future all they want, but eventually if TimeCop's program isn't competing for national conference division championship, something will have to give.

Watching football, video editing, remoting into my office desktop to do some work.

Sucks some of you hokies above are looking for jobs. Keep up the fight! If anyone lands a job in NOVA and needs a place to stay (even temporary) I have an extra room at my townhouse that needs to be rented out!

Doing some much needed yard work, and hopefully the last time until spring. Then, going to a neighborhood kids birthday party with my wife and kids because that would be creepy if I didn't take them. Then we're going over to another couples house to watch F$U and Clemson.

Subbing in for Barney with 'the fun girls?'
Will you get Skippy or Daphne?

1. Pork or Chicken Depending
2. Vinegar

4. Beer
5. West End, forever
6. Breakfast
7. Bull and Bones for somewhat nicer, for quick grab Happy Wok
EDIT for #8: Probably PK's or the Underground. Though we always did end up getting a lot of drinks at Abby's bar as well.

I get what you are saying, and these are just kids,
BUT.......a glimpse at UVA's history doesn't back up any of these claims.
Look at the last 10 years and each year they are just as likely to have a losing season as they are to have a CHANCE at a bowl! Their BEST record in that time was 2007 when they went 9-4.
When was the last time they were nationally relevant?
They have won THREE conference championships in their entire existence; the last being in 1995 which was co-champion with FSU.
Yes, it is a good school, and they have had some talent go there, but Good Lord, there is 'Hope' and there is bull$#^*.

This may be an exception, but Corey Fuller went to Kansas for Track before transferring to Tech. Couldn't find any information regarding his football recruitment, but sort of fits the bill.
