Oh, I wasn't trying to say Malzahn is a bad coordinator - not by a long shot. I was just trying to point out that even good coordinators can have really bad years, which Gus did in 2011. My point being - people shouldn't say Loeffler is a bad OC just because his 2012 numbers at Auburn was awful. Maybe it was beyond his control.
edmunds or harris will emerge as the #1 back with coleman as a change of pace back. i hope they stop the rotation this year. it was one of the worst coaching moves ive seen us do. give the guy the ball and let him get into a groove.
Anyone heard any updates on this kid? I like his potential if we can get him in school.
being a student now I find that admissions/whatever can be quite incompetent sometimes so who knows, ill just be excited when he finally plays
I'm surprised that nobody has yet to mention the loss to 'Cuse at the Dome back in '02 (when Randall set a passing record)...lost that one in 2 or 3OT; OR getting blown out by the Mountainqueers with our '03 "Championship" team in Morganturd...only points we scored was on a Special Teams play; OR the loss to Cal Bears at the '03-'04 Insight Bowl...kickers absolutely choked that game; OR the '97-'98 Gator Bowl ass stomping by the Tarholes...Shayne Graham's FG from almost 50 yds out; OR the '96-'97 Orange Bowl against Nebraska.
This was no doubt one of the worst days of my life. I still have nightmares going back to that day. I can't tell you how many "how many lights does it take to light up Lane Stadium? 1 AA" jokes I have heard. JMU people are the absolute worst (sometimes worse than UVA) and I have hated them ever since. That game reminds me of how Ron Burgundy felt when the mean man punted Baxter over the bridge. That was the first time that I almost actually cried over a football game.

Holy-shmollies guys...is this official yet or what? How many times have I read by some reporter that "sources" have claimed this hire has taken place? I realize there are formalities that have to occur before such an announcement can be made official, but the rumors have lingered long enough. Ol VPI needs to let Hokie Nation what's up so we can get on with our lives...err, jobs I mean. I know I speak for 2/3rds of the folks on here that we are following this like Brett Musburger on ESPN gawking over Bama's QB girlfriend. Sheesh. Lets set the press conference and get on with figuring out how to beat Bama! Oh wait, I know...blitz every play, hit McCarron like he's a pinata, and truck Bama backers with LT3. If that doesnt work? We cant possibly expect Harris to be in the "running" until week 3 or 4. You have to assume that it will be a combination of Edmunds and Coleman leading the pack. Mangus (as cool as his hair cut is) is too thin. He reminds me of Tony Gregory. There isnt enough meat on them bones to make a dent in a Fiesta, let alone the Bama d-line. I say line up Kris Harley at fullback and put JC + Trey on either side in a wishbone. We'll see who has their teeth left after they deal with big nasty.
That's what we're going to be. I am so stoked about the incoming recruits and players we have returning. If we can get Holland Fisher qualified, man we are going to be fun to watch. You have to love heavy hitters + hard runners. Between Edmunds and Harris on offense, Fisher/Fuller/Teller on D, what's not to get excited about over the next few years!? We are brewing up some nasty ball for the next couple of seasons. Watch out ESPN, you just may have a team outside the SEC knocking down doors.
That it'll be Drew Harris. That's who I can see the most out of. I wasn't really impressed with any of the RB's this year although the line didn't help. I'm curious to see what Drew Harris brings to the table. Once he gets to the table....
it seems odd to that someone couldn't help him out in this situation. Admissions should be able to work with him on this. At least we don't have to worry about him getting injured in spring ball. wish he had that time for chemistry and getting his groove in the backfield. I really feel like he is going to be the guy for us unless he has a slow start and Edmunds owns it.
Edmunds needs to head back to defense, and just let J.C. get work until Harris becomes to go-to guy. Just my two cents.
The paperwork error being the reason he was allowed to reopen his recruitment. I feel like he needed a reason to say he was allowed to reopen his recruitment so he could do the joke. I don't know about Tech specifically, but when I was applying to colleges last year, many of them were very understanding about mistakes in the application, often times sending emails about what mistakes were made and providing help on how to fix the errors. I feel like Tech would have done the same thing these other schools did, especially for students they're offering full ride scholarships to.
I appreciate you, but this time I have to say lighten up. We don't know this kids story or where he came from other then what high school he went to. I was a dumb kid too once. Sometimes kids don't even know what grown up looks like. I know it took me a while to figure it out. Come on, admit it, when you read his comments you half smiled at least a little. I thought it was funny.

I don't. Didn't qualify initially. He has been in prep school six months getting his grades up. Now, with all that time to cross the t's and dot the i's, there is a paperwork error at the last second? Time to grow up kid, have the paperwork in correct order, and get it to the clearinghouse as far in advance as possible. I hope this doesn't turn into Todd Nolen or LeSean McCoy all over again. I think the kid can be one hell of a player, especially if Loeffler returns to a pro-style power running game.
I think he plays right away. Too much of a stud, and had a year prep already...we will need him.

Don't get too excited yet. Auburns has been worse than us in sacks allowed and tfls allowed over the last 2 years, with their oline coaches "best" season there occuring during their NC title run... where they were ranked in the mid 50s to 60s in both catagories respectivly. Yea they had a lot of oline talent leave after 2010, but their line didn't get better and we lost just as many guys on the oline from the 2011 squad and still did better
