This graph really visualizes how Fuente initially elevated the program with respect to the end of the Beamer Era. However, I was certainly surprised that the 2018-19 Hokies dipped underneath the twilight of Beamer's tenure.

Andy Bitter wrote a good article today summarizing how poor VT athletic donations are. VT received $22.3 million in donations for 2019 compared with:
Clemson - $40.5 million
Louisville - $35.6 million
UVA - $27.6 million
VT is 39th in total Athletic Department revenue.
We need more people to sign up and donate to the Hokie Club!

This is taken from 247 as of 9:00 this morning ET. It's worth noting that when I started capturing data, Caleb Steward, Phil Patterson, and Khalil Ladler were not included by 247, but they were by the end of it, so i included them. What that means is that the portal is changing constantly and it's possible that not every team is current. Hence the word snapshot

Lot's of talk about donations being the issue with where the state of the program is today.
To fix any issue it is essential to get to the root cause of what the problem is.
To quote Albert Einstein:
If I had only one hour to save the world, I would spend fifty-five minutes defining the problem, and only five minutes finding the solution.
So when performing a root cause analysis, I like to use the 5 why process (doesn't have to stop at 5). But the basic premise is that you ask a question, ask why, answer the question, and ask why again. Rinse and repeat until you cannot go back any further.

Since a lot of people want/expect for Tech to play in the ACCCG, I wanted to look at what not only our schedule looked like, but that of the other Coastal teams. Don't forget, we could go 11-1 and lose to another coastal team, and if they only had one other conference loss, they'd go, not us. I went down the list from the 2019 standings, listed the 2019 #conference wins, listed the conference opponents and my guess as to whether that team would win or lose against those opponents (or if it was a tossup).
For tossups, if there was an even number, I split them for anticipated 2020 wins, if there is an uneven number, I favored the loss.
