Whit and Fuente will speak to the media today starting around 11:30. I'll post updates:
This might be biggest overreaction from fans piece that will come out of this:
Babcock says #Hokies will still refer to the Lunch Pail. Said they won't take it to every game, though. Bud owns the trademarks to it, so VT asked him about it, plus Justin Hamilton. Program won't shy away from lunch pail, but you'll see it a little less.β Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) April 8, 2020
Vegas set its over/under regular season win total for Virginia Tech at 8. Are you going over or under for the Hokies this season?
(And yes, these odds are for a full regular season, not one impacted by COVID-19.)
In @Stadium survey, 88% of FBS ADs want expanded @CFBPlayoff when deal ends in 2025-26. 72% prefer 8-teams, 11% 16-teams. Favorite 8-team model: Power 5 champs, 1 Group of 5, 2 at larges. ADs also slightly favor quarterfinals on campus instead of bowls https://t.co/FL4qKEJ27lβ Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) April 8, 2020
Well outside of COVID-19 and the ramifications of it, there ain't much else to talk about right now.
So the heck with it.

Coach Vass from the MDGA podcast just posted an almost 2 hour interview with Bud. I'm listening to it right now and he goes really in depth on how the defense evolved over the years. There's a lot of stuff I don't understand as it's pretty much all about defensive scheme concepts, but if you've read any of French's stuff you'll recognize some terms.

My most pro ready teammate was either of the edmunds brothers! Playing for buffalo and Pittsburg now. Most pro ready guy that is still on the team has to be offensive lineman Brock Hoffman. Dudes a beast!!! The best player I've ever gone against was either baker mayfield or Patrick mahomes. Obvious answer haha
Big 12 was a lot more difficult of a conference. Might vary depending on the year but that's what I think from my experience playing in both conferences

The commitment from Neville moves the Hokies recruiting class from 30th to 19th in the country. As well as 4th in the ACC
What started out as Fuente tweeting once earlier today has turned into a late night fan fueled tweet a thon. Some of the highlights for me were:

Installment 3 sees us go to the steel city of Pittsburgh. I've heard great things about the city, but I've never been. Mostly because I was born a Hokie and grew up a Cleveland fan. I'm wearing a Browns sweatshirt while I'm writing this. The idea of french fries on a sandwich is too much. And why would you ever want to be called a "Yinzer"? I was basically built to have disdain for the city of Pittsburgh. That being said, would still love a game at PNC Park.
Well, this news really sucks.
Overnight, the entire Hokietapes channel on YouTube was removed. Trying to access it only gets a 404 Error code.
Cole Beck has really bulked up, as seen at the 2020 ACC Indoor Track Championships in February. He's the largest of the top ACC sprinters. With that speed and size, you figure he would get on the football field for one or two plays a game, special teams ......
Beck was 4th in the 60M, running a 6.68, winning time was 6.58

Beck was 4th in the 200M, running a 21.16, winning time was 20.84
Jon sat down with Fuente recently for a 30 minute interview. Nothing super insightful here, but they talk about COVID-19, life, and football. I think you can notice Fuente's a little more comfortable in these one-on-one situations, something I've seen numerous people on here say they've noticed from personal experience. Anyways, didn't see it posted yet, so thought I'd share it.
Athlete/linebacker Will Johnson committed to the Hokies a short time ago. His mom broke the news on Twitter.
https://twitter.com/lemonadepucker/status/1245105399805722626?s=21
Johnson is 6'1-6'2 and 200 pounds with room to grow. He is a safety that is expected to grow into a linebacker and has excellent speed. Bud Foster struggled to find roles for speedy undersized linebackers because of the need to set the edge and fill gaps. Johnson will be an interesting test case to find out how new defensive coordinator Justin Hamilton will adjust the defensive scheme to get better speed and tackling in space.
At least according to the new CBA...

Stadium surveyed FBS athletic directors to gauge their thoughts on whether or not the 2020 football season would happen. They all gave it 5 of 10 confidence or better to be played. However, it's early on in the decision making process.
In a survey conducted by Stadium, all 130 FBS athletic directors were asked to rank their optimism on the upcoming season being played from "1" (will not be played) to "10" (definitely will be played). Of the 130 ADs contacted during the past week, 112 participated in the anonymous survey.
Virginia Tech's in-house publication, Inside Hokie Sports, published a couple of interviews with Justin Hamilton and Brad Cornelsen.

J-Ham was a bit more forthcoming, at least in my opinion. He raved about AmarΓ© Barno, although he was asked specifically about him. I'm interested to see if and where he gets on the field this season.
