Signs seems to point to Virginia Tech having its stud transfer running back and slot threat available this season.
Hearing that #Hokies have finally gotten some relief from the NCAA. Rutgers transfer Raheem Blackshear's waiver appeal is expected to be granted, making him eligible this season.— Mike Barber (@RTD_MikeBarber) September 1, 2020
Not that this is a huge surprise, but it's news nonetheless.
As part of ongoing conversations focused on preserving public health, Virginia Tech and the Town of Blacksburg will prohibit tailgating during the fall season in university and town parking lots and public spaces.
This decision applies to football games, as well as all other fall sporting events, including soccer, volleyball, and cross country.
I've been waiting for someone more savvy than I to bring this up, but since I haven't, I thought why not?
I don't do the link thing, but I will just say that yesterday, the Roanoke Times and the Richmond Times Dispatch, both of which I subscribe to, had a great article about Logan and how he has worked his way into the number 1 spot at tight end. Worth a read if you can, worth a mention if not.
Not a Washington fan, but always a Logan fan, along with the other Hokies in the NFL.
So I know people have talked about a lot of this before, but hopefully I can provide a different take. Some of this was in the recruiting thread, and maybe this will be a better place to discuss some of this than the recruiting threads. And sorry for the long read - hope it's worth it.
I realize some people are more positive on Fuente and some people think he's got us heading in a bad direction for the future of the program. Most of the criticisms of Fuente have revolved around two things, on-field performance and recruiting. What I want to do is look at the on field performance but also look at what off-field decisions he's made and actions he's taken - focusing primarily on last year's performance.
I originally planned on posting this in the Keep Jumping thread, but I wanted more eyes on this because I am not sure if people are aware of this bullshit. So, if this shouldn't be its own thread, I'll take my licks.
I'm not sure if anyone read the fine print. But, did everyone notice that if you take the refund your years of cumulative season tickets stop? If you did, please tell me I'm not the only one that thinks this is a load of horseshit?!

With the Commonwealth Cup on the line first game of the season it's official LOLUVA hate week.

As it stands now, Virginia Tech will open up against Virginia.
The #Panthers are signing former XFL star receiver Cam Phillips, source said. PJ Walker's favorite target from the Houston Roughnecks now joins him in Carolina.— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) August 26, 2020
My favorite part of the XFL (PJ to Cam) is now contained fully within the Panthers organization. Hopefully they get an opportunity on the field together!
Bill C shared a bunch of interested data and charts on how the Hokies stack up in 2020.
You can pretty much pinpoint on the week-to-week chart where Hendon Hooker took over as VT QB last year. (It's where things started moving up rapidly.) That has to be pretty encouraging for the Hokies despite the last couple years of general mediocrity. pic.twitter.com/pgsnF3G2lX— Bill Connelly (@ESPN_BillC) August 24, 2020
Baltimore Ravens safety Earl Thomas was sent home Friday after a fiery on-field argument with safety Chuck Clark, a source told ESPN, confirming multiple reports.
The incident between Thomas and Clark was sparked by a missed assignment by Thomas, a source said. Thomas and Clark yelled at each other on the sideline and had to be restrained by teammates and coaches. Thomas put up his fists at one point.
Blaudschun has a rich sports journalism background and this report seems rather well sourced.

Faced with a rapidly approaching football season, as well as still spiking COVID-19 numbers, a plan has been proposed to reduce campus attendance, but with the football team preparing for the season in a semi-secluded environment.
PFF ranked all 130 starting qbs for the 2020 season. Hendon Hooker came in at #35 -
"Hooker played reasonably well during his time as the Virginia Tech starter. He produced a 76.6 passing grade from Week 6 on, tied for 38th in the FBS over that span, and he also limited uncatchable throws downfield. Hooker routinely made great throws outside the numbers and was actually fifth in college football in his time as the starter in passing grade on such throws. However, we need to see him make more throws over the middle of the field."
Sam Howell at #4 is some pretty high praise... and SEC freshman of the year Bo Nix at #95 made me do a double take. They aren't high on him at all.
