On the message boards, I've noticed a bunch of people commenting how teams that beat us always seem to shoot better from range against us than they do throughout the rest of the year.
Well, as a useless stats guy, I went on the four-letter dot com and pulled up the three years of CMYBall and took a look.
Year 1: 2019-2020
Walk-off last shot, too!
Thought this might muddy the recruiting thread too much since we have football and basketball happening in the same right now.
Darren Buchanan was also named the player of the year. The two commits, Buchanan and Rice, were both first team selections. Hopeful Hokie flip Tyrell Ward named to the second team.

The Men's Team
I want to take a moment to say something about this team.
They are the f#&$ing ACC Tournament Champions. I had thought that we'd have a short run in Brooklyn and then would be left standing at the altar on Selection Sunday, then go on a tear and clean house in the NIT.
THIS WAS SO MUCH BETTER.
Disappointing ending in Milwaukee, included, this team won the ACC by curb-stomping the two bluest-bloods east of the Appalachian Mountains in something that nobody* saw coming February 1. This team will be remembered for its Brooklyn heights and not for its Milwaukee funks.
*Mike Young saw it.
The last 3 games i started the thread and we won so why not keep a good thing going.
HORNS DOWN BITCHES!
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOO!
Hokies tip off against Florida Gulf Coast
Baines, Sheppard, Traylor, Kitley, and Amoore listed as starters
I will still never get used to the First Four being considered the first round. Let's get the talk started as things tip off with Michigan/Colorado State.
I for one hope CSU runs the Wolverines. I don't think Michigan belongs in the tournament, and I took the Rams in every bracket I filled out.
To the Greatest Thing to Ever Happen in Sports
I remember watching and calling every person I knew (within reason) to get them to turn their TVs on.
For anyone heading this Friday to Milwaukee, or MKE as it's locally known, in the great state of Wisconsin, here's your guide from a former Wisconsinite and future Chicagoan. Wish I could join you, but my Chicago move got delayed.
Despite being a big sports fan in general, I've never paid THAT much attention to the ACC Tournament. As a VT graduate living in the DMV for 30 years, I've disliked UVA and Maryland for years, and it always annoyed me how big a deal they considered the ACC Tournament. After Virginia Tech joined the ACC in 2004, I still didn't care much about it. That's because as a VT fan the only thing I ever cared about was how many games we needed to win to make the NCAAs. Some years I knew we'd have to win the ACC Tournament to get in, and since I never considered that a possibility, those years I almost literally ignored the tournament.
Coach Brooks' squad will be playing in the 5/12 matchup at College Park, MD.
No. 11 Virginia Tech will face No. 6 Texas in the East Region. They play in Milwaukee on Friday.
I'll get the ball rolling for what should be an awesome tournament.
First thought, Michigan an 11 Seed and not even in the First Four? Seems way off.

1 caveat - Donation needs to be at least $20.22 to qualify, in honor of this year's team
Legitimate question for you guys - Is there a set of outcomes that is favorable to solidify the Hokies as a 10 seed in Greenville?
Basically - with no Hokies game today, who do I root for?
Seriously. I have no idea. I need to donate. Shut up and take my money CMY.
Sorry and stuff about earlier.
