2020 being an outlier, and the reasons have been discussed and debated ad nauseum, we are recruiting better than UMD, they got us in 2017 too, which I guess was Fuente's first full recruiting cycle at VT

After going back and rereading, I'll just note that when I quoted that, I thought it originally came from one of Bitter's tweets...now I see that it came from the post you quoted, and that Bitter made no mention of Fuente getting anything...so...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

this guy wins twitter today
Babcock says no adjustments to Fuente's contract.
He took his name out after he got what he wanted from Whit
He got something for the program that Whit wasn't offering before.
True, and it says he informed him Tuesday, which is when Thamel tweeted, plausible that he knew it was about to break
Babcock said Fuente wanted to go to work today and coach football rather than speak to the media. Babcock said he'd do it. #Hokies— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) January 16, 2020
#Hokies AD Whit Babcock says Justin Fuente informed him of Baylor's interest in him Tuesday.— David Teel (@DavidTeelatDP) January 16, 2020
So, it sounds like Whit knew, and Fuente told Baylor not interested this morning (offer not confirmed). If Whit knew about it, the only part that doesn't sit right with me is the players finding out via twitter, but I suppose with them home on break, it would be tough to call each one and give them a heads up.
Are you truly committed if you plan to finish high school with your friends before enrolling in college?

Nope

If this is true, and all pans out (and I have no reason not to believe you), then Fuente is back in my good graces, and THAT is all that really matters.

Jeff, is that you?
I mean, I wasn't specific enough...my thought was more along the lines that just cause Frank stayed at VT for 30 years doesn't mean Shane wouldn't do 4 then bolt for a better gig
Who says Shane is a 20 year investment?
Today, I learned what the F5 key does.
All while not informing Whit or any of his players about his plan, lol
2020 signing class is locked in 🤞🏾 don't even worry bout that.— RobertWooten ¹⁵ (@Robjayy15) January 15, 2020
Part of me hopes Whit has started lining up interviews, we announce a new HC before Fuente even steps foot back on campus, then Baylor announces someone else got their job.
Maybe I'm bitter about how this has transpired.

Honest assessment, if we didn't have Hazleton in 2019, I'd say at worst we're an 8-5 team.
