# | The Case for Justin Hamilton: A Page from Clemson's Book (Edited) Yes, there is a lot of football left to play this season, but this isn't about just this season...so what if we get to 8 wins and CJF keeps his job...then we go into next year hearing how the offense has really turned a corner, we won't have to rely on the D to wins games again, blah blah blah....get a couple games in and Corn's play calling shits the bed again and we're calling for a change again, maybe he does just enough to keep his job again, rinse repeat. It's not just one season under the microscope here, we've seen for years where Fuente is taking this program, and it is not where any of us want it to be.
Fuente is not the guy to get us back to where we were. It's just not gonna happen.
Time to rip the band-aid off and try again to find our guy
Justin Fuente being the head coach and Brad Cornelson being the OC at VT is terrible for VT fans every time they tune in to watch a game.

Was looking at past Hokies schedules and rankings and if I counted correctly, from the 2018 season thru today, VT is 6-6 when playing as a ranked team.
Of those 6 losses, 4 of them were to unranked teams. ('21-WVU vs #15), ('20- WF vs #19), ('19- UVA vs #23), ('18 - ODU vs #13).
It also should be noted that the passing game this year, that is supposedly the best since Fuente has gotten here is ranked #105 (183.7 ypg)
Not sure which of the NFL threads injury updates go to, but Tyrod has been placed on the IR, can't catch a break
If I'm Whit, I fire Fuente after he loses two in a row to ND and Pitt, and I kick the tires on JHam as the interim HC for the rest of the season.
If he is to go that route, I wish he would do it today. Not entirely based upon the WVU debacle, but a culmination of years worth of ineptitude, with WVU being the straw that broke the camel's back. If there of thought of a midseason firing by Whit, why drag it out? We're likely not going to win the Coastal, and if we do it's a product of the Coastal being garbage, not us being a good, well coached team. The path back to success does not include Fu and Corn, that much is obvious. Let's get heading in the right direction today.
Their QB missing WRs that had burned our DBs helped a bunch too
If this is how he really feels, he needs to take play calling duties away from Corn and let him focus on what he is supposedly the best at, ironing out the minutia.
Or, if WVU had an accurate QB, they easily could have won by double digits. Their WRs were burning the DBs all day.

So, is retaining assistants more on Fu or Whit? Cause with the way he has stepped up with recruiting, plus stepping up to the DC role for a game last year whoever needs to be do something needs to be doing everything they can to keep him home
