It is my understanding that the only reason CPJ is still around is that for a "smart" school they did a really stupid thing and fulling guaranteed CPJ's contract. I think if they can him they still owe him 7.5 million, and they just don't have the money.

You'll be there for our National Championship year. I have a good feeling about this incoming class of players, and a couple of the players we'll have from this past year's team.
As for point #3 - I think it depends on the year. I think , THIS YEAR, they used the practices for guys who'll be here next year and not so much for the starters. Other years, it has been all business. We tend not to win either way, though most games are competitive.
Lets not forget that OU played flawless special teams, routinely stopping the returner inside or around the 20. And did not give up 2 TD's.
Their QB played the game of his life. THrowing into tight windows, dropping it over Dbs heads, and throwing perfectly timed RB screens (not WR bubble screens) which kept Bama's defense from being too aggresive. And his protection was solid all night.
key word there...."traditionally" and this is why CFB hired a whole new coaching staff. We were getting stuck in the "traditional" category and he wanted to make a change. I think CFB saved a couple years of coaching by this huge change, yes it was late but well needed.
I wouldn't be surprised with our awful redzone offense to see a little wrinkle. Maybe not every time we get there but he did run it at UF with Tebow and if we don't have to burn a freshmen's Redshirt for the package why not add 3-4 plays in. It can't be that hard.

It's hard to say. But the camera from behind the kicker (looked to be along the back of the end zone) seems to show the kicker intentionally angling the ball towards the guy it bounced off of.
UF won it with Urban Meyer and a great QB, they're an absolute joke now 4-8 and they just hired a new OC don't see that working out to well. FSU- well they're FSU who can "lose" to any team on any given day except this year. USC- is a good team and has had great WR.
I thinks its between FSU USC and VT. I could see USC VT but FSU idk about that they have 1 sr WR but he could be drawn there with the hype of catching from Jameis

Lets all agree to disagree...I say we turn Ford, Durkin, Leal, Motley, and Bucky into tight ends and run a new hybrid 5 TE offense....with Sam Rogers at QB.

Stanford probably felt really sore, that game was physical. I think that Alabama thought 1) we should be in the title game 2) We are the better team, we will put it out.
But that OU Qb kept making plays. That was fun to watch.
Right...Durkin was the top QB in Michigan State's class...they were definitely upset when they lost him to us. In fact, they were making comments that he would be the guaranteed starter as a true freshman once he got to Blacksburg.
I like this in theory, but its only because it has painted a rosy picture of VT. The reality is UF, FSU, and USC have all played in the title game more recently than VT and are much bigger programs.
How in the world can you predict Durkin as the red zone QB?
First off, the Hokies haven't traditionally been a team that switches out QB's in the redzone. The guy has not even signed his LOI yet and is not even on campus. Yet somehow he is annointed the redzone QB?
Disagree on the reason being Ford can't take the pounding. The guy is 198 lbs. Trevor Knight who beat Alabama last night is 195lbs. It comes down to toughness sometimes.
I am not saying Ford wins the job, but if he doesn't it isn't necessarily because he can't take the pounding, but more likely because he isn't mentally ready for the job of being a QB as far as reading defenses, making his progression's etc.
I wish for their eternal mediocrity as well, hence I am all for CPJ's continued employment.
But do you think this is a shift in our offensive identity, or a by product of having a lack of a running game? It started last year with the running back by committee that never really got going and bled over into this year where LT was still the battering ram on any down and distance inside 3 yards. Does anyone believe we are going to shy away from the power running game? I'd like to see us become more balanced, but I think it would be tough for Frank to get away from his bread-and-butter. Although, he did bring in a new OC, so he is mixing it up.
Oklahoma switched QBs out of necessity. Knight was injured against WVU. Bell took over for a while then was injured against Iowa State. Knight got his job back then was hurt again against Oklahoma State. They didn't do much switching in games.
Louisville is going to lose Charlie Strong in the next year or two. I would be surprised if he isn't on the Texas list or potentially going back to Florida next year.
