Claeys & Tapp Hired
Anyone else as excited as I am about Darryl Tapp coming back to Bburg?
Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.

The #Hokies officially fill two of their four vacant assistant positions, adding Tracy Claeys to coach LBs and former VT star Darryl Tapp as a general defensive assistant.Claeys has worked with Jerry Kill throughout his career. Tapp was an All-American DE for VT in 2005.— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) December 13, 2019
Virginia Tech meets Kentucky in the Belk Bowl in Charlotte on December 31.
Tickets available via Hokie Sports or TicketMaster. Better deals (and seats) on Hokie Sports, and you'll be supporting VT by purchasing through their allotment. I purchased tickets via the Hokie Club presale, but oddly, my tickets didn't seem to get assigned until I called them up the next day and asked where my tickets were. Weird.
The Belk Bowl has some decent Twitter game. Their announcement on twitter used Baby Yoda, with VT and Kentucky logos for eyes:

Based on all the new coaching changes (no more Wiles, Bud) where does Tech need to annually finish in ACC recruiting to consistently win the Coastal?— Sam Jessee (@Sam_TKP) December 11, 2019
Interested to get a reading on a broader section of the fanbase....
Without two of Tech's best at doing more with less, Bud and Wiles, where does Tech need to land in terms of bringing in talent?
aside from the obvious (Belk) and CFP, which games are getting your interest this season?
I have a short list and some of these are because of the timings of these games, but I still have my reasons.
BLUF,
This Sunday in the Bills-Steelers Tilt the Edmundi will do something that has not been done in over 90 years by having 3 brothers playing on the same field at the same time. Pretty freaking awesome!

Then again, this is the same guy that guaranteed his team wouldn't have any false starts in Lane

Great to see another Hokie getting post season recognition. Was hoping to see Doug Nester on this as well
OL – Bryan Hudson, Virginia Tech
247Sports Composite: No. 197 overall, No. 12 offensive guard
Hudson locked down the starting center job this season as one of two freshmen to start nine or more games for the Hokies along the offensive line (Doug Nester is the other).
I'm curious if anyone's heard what we're going to do differently under Ham?
E.g:: Because Wiles is out and sounds like we're going after "bigger DL" for the future - does that mean we're not going for twitchy one-gap DL that usually doesn't matter how large you are or is that still the plan? Anyone think we're still going to do the inverted cover two / robber scheme on the back end?

Since it is a paid site, i will not post the full chart outlining the Second Team.
Good honor for our lock-down corner!
I was listening to a golf podcast that debated an all-decade golf team and thought it would be fun to reflect on the last ten years in Blacksburg even though they may not have been as fruitful as the previous ten.
Some of the obvious ones have to be Tyrod, Isaiah Ford, the defensive Edmunds brothers, and the defensive Fuller brothers. David Wilson, Ryan Williams, and Darren Evans all played in this decade.
With one more game left, who is on your all-decade Virginia Tech football team?
Thank You, Coach Wiles @coachwiles concludes a 24-year tenure at Tech that included championships & numerous outstanding players.👉 https://t.co/XjJ730S2F7#Hokies 🦃 pic.twitter.com/ZZqkwUApJz— Virginia Tech Football (@HokiesFB) December 9, 2019
Honestly don't know what to say about this...
Hokies have reportedly made a decision for RB Coach
On Sunday, the Virginia Tech Hokies announced that the Running Backs Coach Zohn Burden would not be retained for the 2020 season. His spot has swiftly been filled, as Adam Lechtenberg will reportedly move to the vacant Running Backs coach position, according to Evan G. Watkins.
His ties to Head Coach Justin Fuente originate from 2007, where the two worked as offensive graduate assistants at TCU until 2009.

We know Hamilton is taking over as DC and that Wiles, Burden, and Mitchell will also not be returning by next year.
Who does HokieNation want to see/think will take over in these positions?
Positions open, currently are:
RB Coach
DL Coach
LB Coach
CB Coach
S Coach, although I'm assuming Hamilton remains in this regard.
All told, I'm assuming we have ~2 mil to go around
In the last sentence of the release regarding from the #Hokies' athletic dept. regarding Justin Hamilton being promoted to DC, Tech reveals RBs coach Zohn Burden and CBs coach Brian Mitchell won't return to Tech's coaching staff. No word yet on whether they'll coach in bowl.— Norm Wood (@normwood) December 8, 2019
Burden and Mitchell both not returning to next years staff.

Pac12 looks to be eliminating itself from playoff contention.
I hope Clemson throttles Uva.
I hope Baylor redeems themselves against Oklahoma.
Still rooting for LSU
Don't give a shit about OSU-Wisconsin.
