How about a little snow for Akron at Kent State? 35-28 Kent State at the half and the Akron running back reminding me of Lee Suggs as Akron tries to end a 19 game losing streak. Teon Dollard with 144 rushing yards and 3 tds in the first half.
Buffalo not to be outdone in MACtion, their running back Jarret Patterson has gone for 226 yards and three touchdowns as well.
What other games are you looking forward to?
#9 Indiana trying to take down #3 Ohio State
#10 Wisconsin at #19 Northwestern
#14 OkSt at #18 Oklahoma
#21 Liberty taking on 5-3 NC State, their third ACC contest this season. All while listening to Hugh Freeze as the leading candidate for the South Carolina job.
In this addition of classic film breakdown, I wanted to show what I mean when a defensive lineman or linebacker "crosses the face" of a blocker.
Zone blocking is so prevelant in today's offenses that many defensive coaches have taught their line to flow with the initial zone step. This allows an offense to overload the play side with extra blockers while the defensive line moves away from the football.
Folks, I don't know how Vegas does the odds but I don't have a good feeling being on the road to Pitt. I hope my feeling is wrong.
So, yesterday news broke that the ACC is having to shuffle some 6 games because of a COVID outbreak on the Miami Hurricanes squad.
The team's coronavirus situation appears to have worsened since returning from Blacksburg, Va. The university has experienced a similar uptick in recent weeks. According to UM's COVID-19 dashboard, the school reports 1,060 cumulative cases since the start of the semester in August (74 cases per 1,000 people). It follows a nationwide trend.
Having just played them on Saturday, then this news breaking yesterday, hopefully our future games aren't impacted
Hi all,
I don't post often and haven't watched this video fully yet, but figured I'd share this in case it hasn't been already.
I do like to watch Cole Adams' videos from time to time, especially when it's other schools -- never thought I'd see one for Virginia Tech.

UPDATE:
This thread will be a running list of VT football players entering the transfer portal or opting out late in the season.
If you had Will Muschamp as your pick then go claim your prize.
EDIT
Here is the updated list. I will attempt to keep this up to date.
Justin Fuente: "I feel better about our football team than at any point. ... We're not happy with not winning the ballgame, but my gosh, did our guys lay it on the line today." #Hokiesโ Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) November 14, 2020
Please keep all postgame laments to this thread.
Gents,
I'm here with a quick dose of positivity for you heading into the weekend...
Virginia Tech is not losing to Miami tomorrow. You can count on that.
There has been an enormous amount of negativity this week. And sure, losing is no fun. Especially when it is Liberty.
But I think many of us have blinders on.
Liberty is not a bad football team. They have athletes in key spots. They are well coached. And they came in last Saturday with a great game plan that was almost the polar opposite of what they normally do. Plus, they didn't have to deal with the normal crowd noise.
So with all the cancellations this weekend, 13, I was thinking about what will bowl season look like. There is no win requirement for bowls this year from the NCAA, there are also fewer bowl games and likely to shrink further. So will we see a PSU that might only win 4 games get a bowl invite but 6 win Troy left home?
What is the thought of the TKP brain trust this year? How many bowl games? Who gets in? Does Tech with 5/6/7 wins?
Besides the large number of games cancelled and postponed we have already had some great football this week and looking at some more the next three days.
Friday night
Iowa at Minnesota
Saturday
PSU and Nebraska for their 1st BIG win
Arkansas and UF
USC and Arizona (maybe)
Wisconsin and Michigan
Northwestern and Purdue (maybe for a spot in BIG championship)
So we have 23 games cancelled outright or postponed originally scheduled for this weekend.
๐จ 2๏ธโฃ5๏ธโฃ ALERT ๐จ Congrats to @HewittJarrod for earning this week's honor! ๐๐ฝ https://t.co/V8VondjT1g#HardHatMentality ๐ท๐ฝโโ๏ธ pic.twitter.com/pVIwnC5QQgโ Virginia Tech Football (@HokiesFB) November 12, 2020
Spinning off of from KingJames post here I wanted to look at Fuente's performance against expected wins based on the Vegas Spread. By expected wins, I mean that a 14 pt favorite is expected win 85.1% of the time, a 7 pt favorite 70.3% of the time, and so on. Data sources and code are at the bottom, but betting line data was only available back to 2013 so I started from there.
Comparing the coaches overall:
I've come to the fact that I think VT needs a new head coach to move forward or we risk losing this program to fan apathy. I wrote an email to Whit Babcock, as well as Dave Everett and Terry Bolt from Hokie Club, that I'd be willing to increase my donation if the decision was made to let go of Justin Fuente.
It's a small gesture since I'm not a major donor or have any real influence. I do know others feel the same way and if this message comes from a lot in the fanbase it could influence thoughts in Merryman.
Below are the thoughts I sent regarding the on field product, off the field, and recruiting:
"Like the demeanor," Waller said. "We not playing. We serious. We ain't out there just to be out there. Everybody going to play their role and do their part and be full speed. We not just doing it to clock in. He really trying to put us on work and make the change."
Fuente now getting involved in scout team in practice this week - seems like the guys are more fired up, hopefully they can retain some focus after losing an "exhibition game" *ducks*
