Pat Forde: Justin Fuente is ACC Coach of the Year so far
As a bonus, he also calls out Bronco Mendenhall as one of the worst ACC coaches this year, and points to UVA's disastrous starts so far.
Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.

Not sure how to imbed properly, but the guy Les Miles chose over Herbert to start at Kansas just [mod edit: opted out] for the year.... Glad #21 is with us!!!!
[mod edit: updated language to be more conciliatory towards a player in a tough situation]
This puts the game right at the beginning of whatever trick-or-treating we are going to have. I might be watching the game on my phone next the fire pit as I socially distance giving out candy.
Sitting 1/3rd of the way into the season (assuming we get to see a bowl game) I am astonished at how good this offense has been. We can talk about a questionable quarterback decision in game 3, but beyond that, this team has been downright legen...wait for it...dary in it's productivity.
At this point in the season, the Hokies have played the #s 6, 7, 8, and 10 rushing defenses in the conference and are still leading the country in rushing yards per game (minimum 2 games). A truly impressive feat.

Looks about right to me given who lost. Still think it's a joke that there are 4 0-0 teams ranked.
Real chance for the good guys to hold serve over the next several weeks and find themselves in a really interesting spot before they play Miami
I am really interested to hear people's takes on the defense right now. It felt really sketchy out there against BC for the entire first half but then halftime comes and we've only given up 7 points. We won't be able to rely on turnovers to stop drives every time but it sure felt like improvement over the past 2 weeks. Here are some of my thoughts from an untrained eye:

Some personal news for tonight's game... pic.twitter.com/TRZ1lcc8ym— Jon Laaser (@LazeVT) October 17, 2020
What game are you most looking forward to this weekend outside the Hokies? Alabama vs Georgia? Clemson dismantling the other Tech? Syracuse having to struggle against Liberty? SMU just barely escaping Tulane today? We already saw #21 Louisiana lose to Coastal Carolina.
Tonight watching BYU struggle against Houston, then subjected to another ridiculously long review for targeting. BYU player get ejected on review for a questionable targeting but the Houston running back who stood up after the play and headbutted the defender gets to stay in the game. Ridiculous double standard between a football play and a choice to retaliate after the whistle.
Yesterday on the Big Suey "Can't be Ali" episode around the 19 minute mark, they were discussing how you have to be fearless to play football and not think about consequences. Bomani Jones (I believe) comments about the first D1 game he was on the sideline for was against a Bud Foster defense and how it was terrifying.

Roanoke Times reporting the second string free safety is done for the season.
This reduces the safety room from 8 scholarship safeties at the beginning of August to 5
Let's get it right this week! 25 likes for Barno earning #25 for the game. I have dreams of his spin from the Duke game giftory!

Vandy and Mizzou was already postponed and now Florida just had 19 positive results (not including tracing). The Florida-LSU game is on thin ice now. VT has had our issues, other schools are seeing bigger surges now too.
Edit: Changed title to reflect impacts in all conferences
Do we give Fuente 12 years? Do we change the guard once again? I for one am in awe of our offense this year and I believe the staff gets a pas for 2020. Fuente has made some questionable decisions at QB I will admit. But I think with Hooker we will finish strong as long as we get our defensive players back. Just an interesting article about how Clemson stuck with Dabo and the success they have had.
I was had!

He qualified his statement a bit with "unless things change" but that seemed as if it was related to a COVID-19 intervention.
