The Hokies haven't been this big of a home underdog since 1988 when Tech was a 22-point underdog against South Carolina (L, 26-24). Great teams have come into Lane as big favorites, but rarely ever this big.

Some interesting outsiders perspective on VT football:
To an outsider: They're just not Virginia Tech anymore. The defense is gone. Beamer Ball is gone. The idea that a bunch of Newport News kids hiding over yonder in the mountains would lure a Miami or Clemson to Blacksburg on a Thursday night and by the time "Enter Sandman" finished you were convinced as a fan or rival or random viewer that something insane was about to happen... all long gone.
If this true, This $50 million could be spent on a football operations center that is sorely needed. UVA and Liberty are planning to build such facilities for football. How can we compete against other programs and attract good coaches when the message has been sent that football is not a priority at VT. Wow.
I ask this without listing names - I think it's pretty agreed that we that CJF was a homerun when we hired him and now we want to run him out of town, so what I'm thinking is what attributes are we looking for.
I think there are 2 major things and they maybe related:

As bad as we think we have it with VT football right now, I'm thankful that we dont have these problems to deal with. I'm mindful that we may just not know about them, but given the last decade that Penn State has had I'm grateful for what we have.

I will start. Things are never as good or bad as they may seem to the fans watching. As long as the team continues to fight, I expect a win. I also think we see more QP this week and he will have the longest pass completion. Holston should be taking over some of Blackshear's snaps at running back and Blackshear needs to line up in slot. I really hope the defense continues progressing.
