Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.
I was going through a list of impending NFL free agents and looking at who was going to get resigned, tagged, etc. and saw Tyrod's name pop up for the Ravens and started thinking about where he might wind up. Does leave for a situation where he at least has the chance to compete for a starting gig, does he resign with the Ravens and continue to backup Flacco?

Great to see him getting national recognition for his spectacular performance during the bowl game, and it couldn't have been awarded to a better guy. I know he had some struggles during the season but all in all he has been a massive upgrade over the mess that kicker was in 2013. I expect him to continue to develop into hopefully one of the best kickers in the country by the time he graduates.

Came across this on facebook and figured the tkp community would like this just as much as me (not the music though). After last year's superbowl, last weekend's playoff game, and his general dominance over the past few years, Kam Chancellor is starting to become a household name among football fans. The exposure he's getting for the Hokies is huge! Joe posted the article about the schools prospects consider to be dbU, well I'm sure we'll continue to get points in that category with Kam playing the way he has.

Alright, with the announcement today that Cardale Jones is returning to anOSU, and the previous announcement that this Spring/Fall will have an open QB competition in Blacksburg, what two signal callers will get the starts for their respective teams when the season begins and why?
My guesses:
VT: Brewer - He did it last year. Game Experience. Senior
anOSU: Miller - Would have been him last year. Heisman potential. Senior

Its always good to see Hokies getting an opportunity to showcase their talent to help take the next step. Lets hope he does well and can find a way to get taken in the later rounds of the draft.
The game is being held at the University of Texas - Arlington, and will be on January 31st at 2:30 PM EST.
Other Hokies that had been on their watch list were:
Chase Williams
David Wang
Detrick Bonner

Nice snippet in this week's Mechanicsville Local about Sam visiting an elementary school. No date was given for the visit but here's a screen shot from the paper.

College football ended this week and besides Signing Day in a couple weeks, there's not a whole lot going on in the CFB world. So naturally Kiper has already been creating his mock drafts.
Kiper's Daft
After looking at his mock draft, I couldn't help but notice that there are a lot of wide receivers projected in the first round. (8 in total) I didn't realize this position was such a hot commodity.

I still do not agree with the people that believe the spread offense (pass first) is the best style offense to go with. Sure they're flashy but once again the run first team prevails over the *flashy* team in the national championship game. sure the flashy teams make a lot of noise but it always seems the traditional style teams prevail when it matters most in the end.

ESPN usually does picks for teams to watch in the next year.
Hokies made the list at #5.
5. Virginia Tech Hokies
2014 record: 7-6, 3-5 in ACC
Average Efficiency Rank: 41
Returning Starters: 16 (8 offense, 8 defense)
After winning 10 or more games each season from 2004 to 2011, Virginia Tech has failed to reach double-digit wins in any of the past three seasons. The Hokies finished 7-6 in 2014 and needed two consecutive wins to avoid their first losing season in 22 years.

Florida State could be case study for CFP committee moving forward
Saw this on Yahoo Sports this morning.
The combined College Football Playoff margins of victory by Ohio State over Oregon and Oregon over Florida State make clear which team did not belong in the sports first Final Four. And that team is the Seminoles. They were routed by a team that then was routed in its next game.

With Gayle going to the Redskins, this signing restores some balance to the universe.
No, but seriously, I'm hoping he can stay away from the injury bug and do some big things eventually.

Ohio State's Loss To Va Tech Was The Worst Ever By A National Champ
I'll spare you a major quote dump from the article, because, for lack of a better description, the paragraph I am posting below might be the most tame and nicest towards us. Let's just say, we're not exactly being spoken of in a very nice way. If you're offended by foul language, that is not the link you want to click.

Whats Your College Team Worth?
To compile the numbers, Brewer analyzed each programs revenues and expenses and made cash-flow adjustments, risk assessments and growth projections for each school. The resulting figures represent what the teams might fetch if they could be bought and sold on the open market like professional teams.
Ohio State and Michigan top the list at $1B or more. 8 schools are valued at $700M or more.
