Check out Great Divide Brewing on Arapahoe Street (favorite brewery in Denver) and Wynkoop Brewing on Wynkoop Street (first craft brewery in Denver).

Eat at the Thirsty Lion, right next to Union Station. It's my favorite restaurant in Denver.

Check out 16th Street. Free shuttles run up and down the street all day, but other than that the street is closed to traffic. Just shops and restaurants for about 16 blocks. There's the general touristy shlock, but also some really cool stuff. Overland Sheepskin Co. is very cool but pricey.

Get high. Preferably at the concert. Red Rocks is an amazing venue. It's even more amazing high.

DRINK WATER CONSTANTLY. Elevation will fuck you up. I feel parched the whole time I'm there. Also, because of the elevation, expect every drink you have out there to hit you like three.

I am addicted. It's a dinner dose of nostalgia. The Merry Melodies retro cartoon style is right out of my childhood, v and it's probably the best insanely difficult side scroller I've ever played. You will die a lot, but it's isn't frustrating like Dark Souls because the levels are all about 2 minutes from start to finish and you hop immediately back in on a failure.

I'd say it's a must buy.

If they get Rick out of retirement, they better goddam well get Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money into production immediately.

They did a Galaxy 2, though, so I'm hopeful for Odyssey 2.

And if there was ever a Zelda game that needs a repeat of the Majora's Mask treatment, it's BotW.

I think you forget just how much the entire nation was pulling for us that season. It was absolutely irrational (though understandable) that people who never watched a down of VT football wanted to see us go on a run that season. The computers would have had us at number 2, because by that point the computers weren't allowed to use margin of victory in their rankings. And I think there was enough human sentimentality to explain away the dismantling of our program in Baton Rouge for enough pollsters to keep us close enough for the computer rankings to tip us over the finish line.

I believe that had we won a BcS championship in '99, Beamer would have still made all the same mistakes later in his career that led to the eventual stagnation of the program. Indeed, winning it all would have been further proof in his mind that his strategy of narrowing rather than expanding our recruiting footprint was the way to go. So I don't see a major difference in the quality of recruiting compared to what we saw after that Sugar Bowl as it stands. I don't see a win against FSU changing other major decisions that were made shortly thereafter either. Bustle still leaves, we still get Rogers at QB coach, there's still unreasonable loyalty to Stiney. The only thing I can think of is maybe we get into a bidding war for Beamer against a way bigger program than UNC, and possibly lose, but even that feels unlikely.

So give me an onsides kick recovery against BC. I think making a championship game twice in 8 years would do more for the program than a single national championship. It would have shown we were a serious contender at the national level who can somewhat regularly contend for the big hardware.

Purists tend to be idiots and killjoys.

Don't @ me.

I don't think he was even trying to kill him in ESB. He took some heavy shots at Luke, but by that point he knows Luke is his son, is strong in the Force and has been trained by Obi-Wan. He knows Luke can take what he's dishing out.

Also, while this is retconned a bit, compare Vader fighting in Rogue One to how he fights Luke. I have no doubt Vader could have ripped through Luke without issue had he actually wanted to.

I am not a huge Willis fan, but he certainly just managed to keep the bowl and LOLUVa streaks alive

This is a bit of revisionist history. It was the defense that nearly ended the bowl and Commonwealth Cup streak. What Willis did statistically was more than respectable, especially coming in as the backup.

The proper question to ask is how many loses are we willing to endure for defensive player development, and I'm hoping the answer to that was 7 loses, all last season.

I mean the answer is right there in ESB:

If he could be turned, he would be a powerful ally.

In ESB, Vader is trying to lure Luke into the carbonite chamber, so he can be taken to the Emperor and trained as a Sith.

In RotJ, Vader is just trying to straight up turn Luke to the dark side then and there by taunting him with the ambush they've set for the Rebel Alliance.

The goddam door fell off mine, and I rigged it to close just because the inside is so perfectly seasoned at this point and I don't want to start back at square one.

Seems like everyone is in agreement on brine and smoke, so I'm not going to waste time reinventing the wheel. But I would add, when it comes to turkey I swear by buttermilk brine. Dissolve your salt into half as much warm water as you need, then when it's cooled, add an equal amount of fresh buttermilk. Preferably full fat.
