Ask TKP:Did Brock Hoffman declare for the draft?

https://insidetheiggles.com/2021/01/07/philadelphia-eagles-brock-hoffman/ This was an article on Brock Hoffman's Twitter feed. I looked and couldn't find anything to see where he had declared for the draft.

With that being said, welcome former Virginia Tech Hokie Brock Hoffman to the conversation.

Darrisaw earns PFF's pick for Outland Trophy as nation's top OT

https://www.pff.com/news/college-football-awards-2020-heisman-trophy

OUTLAND TROPHY: CHRISTIAN DARRISAW, VIRGINIA TECH

Darrisaw didn't quite break Penei Sewell's record for the highest single-season PFF grade by a Power 5 tackle (95.8), but he certainly challenged it, and he did so despite going against far stiffer competition. Darrisaw led all Power 5 tackles in both pass- and run-blocking grade this year, culminating in a 95.6 PFF overall grade for the season.

Dorian Strong named to 247Sports True Freshman All-American Team

Just as the title says. 247 put out their True-Freshman All-American team yesterday and listed Strong as one of the CB's, saying that he graded as VT's best corner over the course of the year, and was the 5th best qualifying freshman.

The Hokies' defensive back depth seemed to take hit after hit this season, but Strong was a bright spot all year. The former three-star recruit ended the year with 22 tackles, an interception and five passes defended, grading out as Virginia Tech's top overall cornerback and the fifth-best qualifying freshman DB, per PFF College

Virginia Tech Ranked #30 Richest College Football Program

#30 Virginia Tech $56.2 million (-2)

A disappointing season in which Justin Fuente lost his starting quarterback in the 3rd game ended 6-7. The Hokies still made $26.1M in profit.

Hokies Land Transfer OL Johnny Jordan from Maryland

Some probably already saw this posted in the recruiting thread, but remember that player acquisitions are worthy of their own thread so feel free to post this kind of information as its own forum topic in the future.

Ashby declares for the NFL Draft

Good luck to Ashby. He was a really good fit in Bud Foster's system. He struggled this year in a system where the DL wasn't keeping him as clean, and the adjustment where he was having to jam the A gap to keep the backer clean had to wear on him.

It will be interesting to see if this means Dax Hollifield moves over to the field side linebacker next year while Tisdale becomes the guy on the boundary.

Ari Wasserman: An anonymous survey of recruiting staffers

Ari Wasserman of The Athletic put out a piece about a week ago where he anonymously interviewed 15 recruiting staffers from seven conferences (including at least two staffers from each P5 conference). They talked about misconceptions, underrated recruits, preferred changes to recruiting rules, etc. Due to CG's/the paywall, I won't link the article, but I wanted to share some themes and comments I found interesting.

To start, there were two misconceptions fans have about recruiting that really stood out to me:
