Dax to Wear #25 against UNCheat

May he unleash his full hate and fury on the traholes.
Here's to 25 sacks/tfls and holding them to no more than 25 yards the whole game.

Week 5 Other Games Thread

I thought I'd start this for anyone watching Shane. Why in the hell go for an inside kick in the first quarter after converting a 2pt conversion. State must have pissed him off or something.

UNC/VT Predictions?

This is really a fascinating matchup:

  • VT is the 119th best offense, going up against the 113th best defense (per SP+)
  • UNC is the 10th best offense, going up against the 23rd best defense (again, per SP+)
  • SP+ also says UNC is the 10th best special teams unit, while VT is the 29th best

Vegas has UNC winning by 9, with the over/under at 51.5. SP+ says UNC wins 31-25. I'm tempted to take VT to win outright at +260.

What do y'all think?

Pry Presser UNC 2022

It's that time of the week again. Seems like Pry feels that the defense pressed a little in the second half causing some of the penalties, similar to what others have said on TKP.

We've implemented some sort of punishment for penalties now that includes a review process from the captains and coaches. At least that's how I understood it.

Play action problems?

French and other expert analysts, I would love your thoughts on this.

Rewatching the condensed game. Specifically watched the 3rd and 4th down sequence in the first quarter where we got stuffed in 4th. The sequence starts at about 7:23 in. There is a lot of call for more misdirection and window dressing and running outside the tackles. Both of these plays feature all of that. The commonality is the QB seems to be making the call on what to do with the ball. Problem is the mesh point isn't fooling anybody. Watch the LBs and Safeties. Everybody sticks with the ball and nobody respects the options. Is this poor execution by Wells? Or do we have a tell?

Which Hokie NIL should I donate too?

With all the bashing of coaches and bemoaning the talent level that's come a quarter into the season I just keep coming back to this. What will turn it around faster? NIL, be it the portal or on the radar for HS players HAS to be at the top of the list.

About last night - Things will get better... eventually

I don't even know how to start this comment, so I'll just get right to it. We don't have a good team this year. Our years of poor recruiting under Fuente and an Early Signing Day happening a week after Pry was hired have pretty much torched whatever talent and depth we had over the last couple years. And games like last night are probably going to be the norm for the next couple years. Pry has a mess to clean up, and we're just not realizing how awful the program that he inherited had become.

But

The Lane Stadium Experience in 2022

I was going to put this in the "Vent" thread, but thought it deserved it's own forum topic.

Anyway, I know we're all disappointed with the on-field performance of the team last night, but here's another thing that I was hoping we'd never have to vent about: the Lane Stadium experience.

Don't get me wrong, it's impressive that we can get 60,000+ to show up for a bad team, but boy the stadium experience is just not what it was.

West Virginia Vent Thread

Penalties. No running game. Anemic passing game.

Honeymoon over Pry. Figure it out.

West Virginia Joke Thread

We all have them. Some more printable than others. Share yours here. I'll start.

A guy wearing a West Virginia shirt walks into a bar with a parrot on his shoulder. He asks the bartender for a beer, and the bartender gives him one. Eyeing the parrot, the bartender says, "Hey, that's pretty neat. Where'd you get that?" The parrot responds, "Morgantown. They're all over the place!"

Even Miami players know playing in Miami sucks

This kind of stuff right here should be saved on all of our coaches phones and replayed for any recruit we go to visit. Even Hurricanes players know that their home atmosphere sucks. Enjoy your time in school some more and go play for a school that actually supports their teams and makes playing in your home stadium fun.

Tyrod Taylor suing Chargers Doctor

LINK

The lawsuit also accused Gazzaniga of "medical battery" and claims Taylor "did not have proper and accurate informed consent prior to the anesthetic injections" and thus "constituted a medical battery."

Good for him. I hope he wins.

Hokie Player customized jerseys are available for purchase now

Fanatics Link

The player you choose will get a portion of the proceeds of the sale.

Honestly, I'm glad we are now a part of this. I haven't bought a jersey in years but to know it'll benefit a player directly would probably push me to do it again.
